La petite pois (polka dots)

I think that the French have the best word for polka dots...la petite pois. I just like the sound of it. Petite means little. To me the phrase sounds darling.
You can find la petite pois everywhere in Paris. All over the dishes. I would love to have a set of these bowls. They seem like such a cheery way to start the day.

They're definitely bright. Polka dots must come around in fashion. I'm helping with the costumes for the musical at the high school -- Kiss Me Kate. The time period is 1948, and the costume director said the fashions were similar to the 1980s, including polka dots. Then she named things, like argyle sweaters, that are coming back into fashion now. Guess that includes polka dots too.

What a fun post! I have a set of small cups and plates with polka dots on them, which I adore. They are perfect for small portions of dessert. I will try to remember "la petite pois". :)
