Honfleur

Let me take you to Normandy to introduce you to Honfleur.  Honfleur is a little seaside village with lots of charm.  Like many of the homes in Normandy, Honfleur has a large collection of timbered houses.
It is easy to see why so many of the impressionists came here to paint.
Typical timbered home.

This is my contribution to Dreaming of France, hosted by Paulita at An Accidental Blog.

Those bright and joyous colors against the somber background makes me feel happy.
I wish there was .more of that sense of refined whimsy here

I would love to wander around a place like this. So many fascinating shops to explore and something beautiful to look at wherever you turn.

Oh my, this could be in National Geographic. What a gorgeous setting and I think that my DH will return to Paris with me and add a trip to Normandy. Just lovely.

I went to Honfleur in 98, and have very fond memories of the place- it's very beautiful. Thanks for reminding me.
